From Leigh Greenhough:
“Dear Jason – I just wanted to say thanks so much for the fantastic lessons we’ve had over the past few months. I’ve learnt so much and you truly are an inspiration, without you I wouldn’t have got into The Institute. FACT! I’ve become a better player and you’ve truly opened my mind with regards to how approach the instrument.”

Leigh: who has successfully achieved a place on the BMus(Hons) degree at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London. Leigh had lessons with a specific focus on supporting and preparing him for audition.

From Martin Moscrop:
“I have known Jason Brown since 1995 as a tutor, tutee, musician, great guitarist and his line manager.  I first met Jason when he was a student attending my Sound Recording lectures. He stood out from the rest of the group because of his enthusiasm and energy.  After he completed his course he started teaching at City College Manchester and before long he was running the BTEC HND in Music Performance. He was an excellent personal tutor and really motivated his students to do well.
JASON IS AN OUTSTANDING TEACHER who does not stick to the norm when teaching which has resulted in him CONSISTENTLY RECEIVING A GRADE ONE IN HIS LESSON OBSERVATIONS (for both Ofsted and in-house observations).
Jason also gave me guitar lessons and even after playing professionally for 25 years he made me realise my potential and motivated me to come out of retirement and record another album.  HE IS A TRULY INSPIRATIONAL MUSICIAN AND TEACHER and I would recommend him only to those who are serious about playing the guitar and love music.
Martin was head of music at City College Manchester and is now head of 16-19 Education at The Manchester College. Martin is also a founder member of Manchester’s iconic  “A Certain Ratio”.

From Paul Cusick BA(Hons), MA (Mus Perf):
“After studying at many prestigious music schools I still regard my time studying with Jason as my steepest learning curve. He gave me a great foundation in all aspects of my playing which has allowed me to pursue a career as a professional guitar player.
Jason also instilled in me a great self belief through delivering challenging yet supportive lessons, I would strongly recommend studying with Jason no matter what your aspirations as a player.”
Paul now works as a professional guitarist and is course leader of the Masters Degree in Music Performance at Salford University.

From Mike Banfield:
“Jason’s lessons were consistently well structured and always
had a clear goal that we were working towards. He has always been very encouraging and helpful when discussing performance and gigs and provided me with many job opportunities as well as providing some excellent advice and guidance in getting work and making important career choices. By far the most valuable things that Jason taught me were the techniques and approaches to learning various information, be it scales, licks, tunes, aural skills or theory. I’ve been able to take those approaches and apply them to practically anything I want to learn, giving me the ability to take control of my own learning. I’m talking about things like timed exercises, “ACDFG” exercises and how to effectively practice for a performance, to name a few. Jason taught me those approaches about 4 years ago and I’ve been learning increasingly more advanced material ever since using the same exercises and techniques and getting great results – best money I ever spent!!”
Mike achieved Distinction in Grade 8 Electric Guitar. He now works as a professional guitarist and teacher.

From Adrian Armstrong – Director of Armstrong Learning:
“I have had the pleasure of working with Jason over a number of years,
where he has delivered highly valued instrumental tuition to our
students who vary greatly in ability and age. I would highly recommend
him as an exceptional guitar tutor”.
